During the Super Bowl, The Strat made the exciting announcement of its rebranding from The Stratosphere. To ensure maximum visibility, the company purchased local Super Bowl ad space right here in Las Vegas. In addition to traditional advertising, The Strat leveraged the power of social media, engaging with its audience through various accounts and even sponsoring posts. This strategic marketing approach allowed The Strat to reach a wider audience and generate buzz around its new identity.
I have to say, the response to the Strat announcement was a bit of a mixed bag. Some people didn't really care for it, and I have to admit, I'm not a big fan myself. But here's the thing: just because we don't like the new name, does that mean we should disregard all the other great things that are happening at the property? I don't think so. Personally, I'll probably still refer to it by its old name, like I've been doing for what feels like forever.
Exclusive offer: Experience the thrilling $5 3:2 blackjack game exclusively on the iconic Las Vegas Strip!
I am delighted to share with you some intriguing information about a remarkable establishment on the iconic Las Vegas Strip. The Stratosphere, a renowned casino, boasts a distinctive feature that sets it apart from its counterparts: it offers a 3:2 blackjack game with a minimum bet of a mere $5. In the past, the previous ownership had limited availability of this particular game, only opening a table or two during peak hours. However, when Golden Entertainment acquired the property, they made a noteworthy change. They transformed the blackjack pit situated near the craps tables, which originally featured a 6:5 blackjack game, into a 3:2 variant. These newly revamped tables, with their appealing odds, continue to captivate visitors, as they maintain a $5 minimum bet and remain open 24 hours a day.
The probability in craps is multiplied by ten.
In the back pit, you'll find two classic craps tables where the exhilarating game unfolds. But that's not all! We also offer a unique twist called crapsless craps, where you can't lose on the come-out roll. It's an exciting variation where a roll of 7 guarantees a win, while any other number becomes the point to chase. And here's the best part: we're offering ten times the odds on our craps tables, giving you even more chances to strike it lucky. Plus, the minimum bet to join in the fun is usually just $10. So gather your luckiest charms and join us for an unforgettable dice-rolling experience!
Heads Up Hold’em
At Stratosphere, they made a change to their table games by replacing the Ultimate Texas Hold’em tables with Heads Up Hold’em. This move might not sit well with experienced players, as Heads Up Hold’em eliminates the option for a four times preflop raise. Instead, players are now only allowed to raise up to three times before the flop in this game. However, the four times raise has been replaced with a bad beat bonus. From a positive standpoint, this change might not bother most players, considering that many of them don't even play the game correctly, especially before the flop.
When it comes to Heads Up Hold'em, playing flawlessly gives you a slight edge, albeit 0.11 percent worse than Ultimate Texas Hold'em. However, if you tend to make numerous blunders before the flop, don't lose hope just yet! The silver lining lies in the bad beat payout, which offers a much more lucrative return. So, even if your pre-flop strategy isn't on par, there's still a chance for a favorable outcome in this exciting game.
New restaurants
My wife and I have become quite the regulars at the Stratosphere, frequenting this entertainment venue two or three times per month. One of our favorite highlights of our visits is attending the LA Comedy Club, a hilarious experience that never fails to entertain. In the past, we would often enjoy a meal at Fellini's either before or after the shows. However, we have since discontinued this tradition due to a significant decline in both the quality of the food and the level of service provided.
In my opinion, Suncoast's Salvatore's is a much better alternative if you happen to miss Fellini's, which, according to a report by Vital Vegas, is closing down. It appears that a new restaurant will soon occupy that space. It's quite remarkable how Salvatore's is owned and operated by the same company as Fellini's.
New sportsbook
Since the middle of 2018, we've been witnessing the construction of a brand new sportsbook that promises to bring excitement to the Stratosphere. As a temporary solution, a makeshift sportsbook has been set up in the old ticket booth area, strategically located at the top of the casino escalators. Looking ahead, exciting news awaits sports enthusiasts as Stratosphere plans to launch a mobile betting app in 2019. However, it's important to note that this development comes with a bittersweet twist. In order to make way for these exciting changes, the independent sportsbook will be taken over by William Hill, a well-known name in the industry.
Hotel room renovation
Last year, Stratosphere unveiled plans to renovate approximately 900 hotel rooms, with 250 of these rooms already available for booking as part of the Elevate series.
Celestia
On February 27, an exciting spectacle titled Celestia is set to debut at The Strat. This captivating show promises to take audiences on an extraordinary expedition through acrobatics, artistry, and mesmerizing illusions. Enthralling performances will unfold within the confines of a majestic 200,000 square-foot tent, graciously adorning the property. Prepare to be enthralled by this awe-inspiring marvel of entertainment!
As an avid seeker of entertainment, I'm thrilled to share that LA Comedy Club and MJ Live are still available for your enjoyment, carrying on the legacy of the previous proprietors. It's worth noting that LA Comedy Club offers a fantastic all-you-can-drink special for just $25, ensuring that your thirst is quenched throughout the evening. And here's a little insider tip: if you happen to be a local resident, you can snag entry for a mere $15, making it even more accessible and affordable. With these enticing options, you're guaranteed a night of laughter and top-notch performances that won't break the bank. So gather your friends, grab a drink, and prepare for an unforgettable evening of entertainment!
Ride opportunities are still up for grabs.
Las Vegas has a plethora of attractions, but the rides at Stratosphere hold a special place in my heart. There's something exhilarating about defying gravity and soaring high above the glittering city below. One memorable experience my wife and I had was when we decided to take on the SkyJump back in 2012. It was an absolute blast! The sheer adrenaline rush as we plunged towards the ground is something that will forever be etched in our minds. Now, if you have a fear of heights, don't fret! The other rides on the tower offer a different kind of thrill that doesn't require you to look down. From spinning upside down to being catapulted into the sky, these attractions promise excitement and entertainment for everyone, regardless of their daredevil status. What's even better is that Stratosphere offers locals discounts for these heart-pounding adventures. It's a fantastic opportunity for us Las Vegas residents to enjoy the thrills of our own city at a more affordable price. So, whether you're a thrill-seeker or just looking for a unique experience, the rides at Stratosphere are definitely worth checking out.
The Strat gratefully provides all of the images.
