Wynn Resorts released a 23-page document covering the actions it will take to protect guests and employees when its properties are permitted to reopen. CEO Matt Maddox introduced this in an op-ed at The Nevada Independent on Sunday. The policy also outlines what the company feels is needed before Nevada’s largest industry can begin to welcome guests after what will be at least a six-week closure order made by Nevada Governor Sisolak.

What Wynn Resorts thinks is needed before Las Vegas Strip can reopen

The first section of the Wynn Resorts plan outlines concentrating on testing volume and data, as well as hospital capacities, ICU and death statistics that fall below the national average for a sustained period and accessible information for the public to see.

The report notes the lack of COVID-19 testing supplies in Nevada. It states this is expected to be resolved in the coming weeks.

What Wynn Resorts will do to prevent spread of virus

The next section details the procedures Wynn Resorts will have in place when it reopens to protect guests and employees.

Thermal thermometers

Thermal thermometers will be used on anyone trying to enter a Wynn Resorts property. A guest or employee that registers a temperature 100 degrees or higher will be taken to a private area for an additional screening. If the second screening determines the person has a fever, he or she will be directed to medical treatment.

Physical distancing

Guests must stand at least six feet away from others that are not a member of their party. Restaurant tables and slot machines will be spaced in accordance with this policy. Typical table games will be limited to three players. Craps tables will permit three players on each side of the dealers. Big table baccarat will offer four seats. Every other table will be closed in pits. No more than four people will be allowed in an elevator at any given time.

Guest arrival

Wynn Resorts will supply masks and hand sanitizer to all guests. Guests will not touch doors. This will be handled by employees or be automatic. Car doors will not be opened by employees. Valet service is suspended indefinitely.

Company transportation will be limited to two guests per sedan and four per SUV. Limos will be cleaned before and after each use. Elevators, doors and all common contact surfaces will be cleaned regularly and extensively.

Game cleaning procedures

Guests will be offered a cleaning of any slot machine they wish to play. Table game seats and rails will be wiped down when a guest leaves. Dice will be sanitized after each shooter. Pai gow tiles will be sanitized when a new dealer enters the game. Other items, such as toke boxes, card shoes and roulette configurations will be cleaned when a new dealer enters the game. Chip cleaning procedures have yet to be determined.

Poker room operations

The same table game policies that cover live poker. However, the number of players per table has yet to be determined. It is unknown at this time if food will be served in the Encore poker room.
