There were three Las Vegas casino reopenings within 24 hours this week. On Wednesday, Oyo opened at 11am. That was followed by Tropicana and Rainbow Club opening this morning at 10am.

None of these properties had the fanfare that earlier reopenings enjoyed. Tropicana is open, but with limited table game action and dining options. Oyo, formerly Hooters, has struggled in recent years but is trying to find a new identity. Rainbow Club is a slots-only casino in downtown Henderson that was closed for a remodel that coincided with the pandemic.

Oyo reopening

Oyo was the first of these three Las Vegas casinos to reopen. Its date was pushed back four times before becoming reality. The former Hooters property had two differences between my last visit in early 2020 and today. The Three Card Poker table was no longer on the floor. There is also a new 3:2 $1 video blackjack machine. Players may bet on up to three hands. This machine is pictured to the right. Note that it is not the Interblock machine by the door, which pays 6:5.

The biggest change is that nearly every blackjack table at Oyo pays 3:2. There are 11 of those tables with a $10 minimum bet. The only one that pays 6:5 has a $1 minimum bet. It pays even money on bets under $5. It is the last live $1 blackjack game in Las Vegas. The only other open table was $5 00 roulette.
