Tropicana is near the south end of the Las Vegas Strip. It borders Harry Reid International Airport. Tropicana is in a great location for those who fly into Las Vegas and do not want to worry about traffic on the way to the airport when leaving. The other casinos at this intersection are Excalibur<\/a>, MGM Grand<\/a>, and New York-New York<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

There is a proposal to implode Tropicana and replace it with a baseball stadium and new resort. That is still in the planning stages and may not become a reality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tropicana is operated by Bally’s. It is the only casino in that section of the Las Vegas Strip that is not operated by MGM Resorts. It tends to offer a better value than its nearby competitors. It is smaller than its neighbors on Las Vegas Blvd.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tropicana has two showrooms. One is a comedy club. The other is a traditional theater. The hotel has around 1400 rooms. It has a few restaurants and a casino bar. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tropicana casino<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The casino is about 50,000 square feet. There are about 600 slot machines and 30 table games. There are a couple of electronic table games next to the pit. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Most of the casino floor is slots. There are a few video poker machines and electronic table games. The bar has some of the best $1 video poker on the Strip. However, it does not open until 5pm most days. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

There is a William Hill ticket counter<\/a> at Tropicana. The former viewing area was converted into a restaurant several years ago. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Table games<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Tropicana deals baccarat, blackjack, craps, roulette, Fortune Pai Gow Poker<\/a>, Heads Up Hold’em<\/a>, roulette, and Three Card Poker. It is one of the few Las Vegas casinos with Heads Up Hold’em and Fortune Pai Gow Poker. The casino floor has a 3\/2 blackjack game. There is one in the high limit room, but its hours seem limited based on our observations. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Double and triple zero roulette are dealt. Craps is up to 3-4-5 times odds. The field pays double on 12. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Poker room<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Maverick Gaming announced that it would reopen the Tropicana poker room later in 2024. The timing seemed odd based on the unknown A’s stadium status. The Tropicana last had a poker room in 2012<\/a>. That one had the bad luck of opening on April 15, 2011, online poker’s so-called “Black Friday,” a day that essentially destroyed the thriving US online poker market and sent poker into a decline. The closest poker room is at MGM Grand<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Entertainment at Tropicana<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

There are multiple shows at Tropicana. Two tribute shows take place in the Tropicana Theater while The Laugh Factory hosts comedy and magic shows.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tropicana Theater<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

MJ Live: Michael Jackson Tribute Concert<\/a> highlights one of the greatest entertainers of all time. A rotating cast of impersonators showcases the energy, excitement, spectacle, and pure joy of Michael Jackson. Backed by an onstage band and an entourage of dancers, MJ Live is a family-friendly show. Dark on Tuesdays, the show starts at 7:30pm Wednesday through Monday. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prince fans can still party like it’s 1999 at Purple Reign, THE Prince Tribute Show<\/a>. The show features Jason Tenner or Donelvan Thigpen impersonating Prince. *The Prince estate is not affiliated, associated, or connected with \u201cPurple Reign The Prince Tribute Show!\u201d or Tropicana Hotel, nor has it endorsed or sponsored \u201cPurple Reign The Prince Tribute Show!\u201d or Tropicana Hotel.<\/em> Guests must be at least 16 years of age. The show starts at 9:30pm Wednesday through Saturday. It is dark on Sundays, Mondays, and Tuesdays. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Laugh Factory<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

A rotating roster of established comedians and new rising stars of comedy take the stage daily at the Laugh Factory. Shows are at 8:30pm and 10:30pm. All guests must be at least 18 years of age. Headliners are listed when purchasing tickets<\/a>. Select shows start at 7pm. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Murray The Magician<\/a> was a semifinalist on the NBC hit show “America’s Got Talent.” During the show he performs two of his signature illusions in the middle of the audience, giving them an intrusive 360-degree view of him and his tricks while leaving no hiding space. The family-friendly show is at 4pm Sunday through Wednesday. It is dark Thursday through Saturday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rich Little<\/a> was a regular on \u201cHollywood Squares,\u201d \u201cThe Judy Garland Show,\u201d and even was a guest host on \u201cThe Tonight Show\u201d a dozen times. In his one-man show, Little brings to life many of the actors, singers, and politicians he has known throughout his career. Guests must be at least 12 years of age. The show starts at 6:30pm Sunday through Wednesday. It is dark Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There is a small selection of restaurants at Tropicana Las Vegas. Options include casual dining, quick bites, and an upscale steakhouse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
