The Orleans poker room was the second to open on June 4, 2020, in Las Vegas after the COVID-19 closure. It seats nine players for cash games and tournaments. The Orleans poker room is open 24 hours.

Omaha hi/lo is the most popular game at The Orleans poker room. You will often find more tables running of it here than the other poker rooms in Las Vegas combined. It also spreads Texas hold’em and mixed games. All are dealt in cash games and tournaments. Our Orleans poker room review below has all the details.

There are 43 poker tables at The Orleans. Of those, 20 are dedicated to tournaments.

The Orleans poker cash games

Omaha hi/lo is the most common cash game at The Orleans. The standard limits are 4/8 and 8/16 with a half-kill. A 15/30 Omaha 8 or better game may pop up at busy times. A 4/8 Omaha hi game appears occasionally.

Fixed limit Texas hold’em is also popular at The Orleans poker room. Several 3/6, 4/8, and 8/16 games run during busier hours. No limit hold’em blinds are usually 1/3 or 2/5. The 1/3 buy-in is $100 to $500. The 2/5 game is $200 to $1,000.

The Orleans poker tournaments

There are 17 weekly tournaments offered by The Orleans poker room. At 11:05am Monday through Saturday, there is a $100 no-limit hold’em tournament. It has a $7,500 guarantee. There is a $100 no-limit hold’em tournament at 7:05pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays. That has a $10,000 guarantee.

The 7:05pm Friday tournament is $150 no limit hold’em with a $25,000 guarantee. The Saturday night Orleans poker tournament is $200 no-limit hold’em with a $20,000 guarantee. The Sunday 11:05am tournament is $200 no-limit Texas hold’em with a $40,000 guaranteed prize pool. There is a rake-free $100 add-on.

There is a $130 HORSE at 4pm on Mondays. The 7pm tournament on Mondays is $200 NLH. This also runs on Wednesdays at 7pm. At 4:pm on Wednesdays, there is a $105 half Omaha hi/lo half seven card stud hi/lo. Saturdays offer a 4pm m$150 Omaha hi/lo tournament.

The Orleans poker promotions

The Orleans takes a $2 drop for promotions. This tends to fund bad beat jackpots. In Omaha, there is typically a steel wheel promotion, meaning a payout for a five-high straight flush. Some promotions, like the royal flush promotions, pay double on certain days and times. There may also be freerolls for players that give a certain number of hours of cash game action during a specific period of time.

Texas hold’em players enjoy a variety of seasonal promotions. These are often related to sporting events, high hands, or drawings. Texas Hold’em has a bad beat jackpot.

Environment

There are 23 cash game poker tables at The Orleans. There is a separate 20-table tournament section that expands during major events. It is a mix of locals and tourists.

The Orleans poker room has become one of the few places left in Las Vegas that deals Omaha and Omaha hi/lo. Dealers and floor people are experienced in any game. This makes it easy to get a private cash game or anything else unusual off the ground.

Little has changed in the Orleans poker room over the years. It is nothing luxurious. However, it is perfect for what it is, a large locals poker room.

The Orleans poker rake

The rake is capped at $5. There is a $2 jackpot drop.
